An Update on the Fundraiser

Email this article to a friend Email this article to a friend

I have continued to receive help from people who want to share this event with their audiences. I am completely grateful and want to take a minute to share with you the help I have received.

Robin from Naked in Eden wrote a fantastic article about giving and receiving in which she was very kind and told her audience about my trip, and also included the video about the fundraiser in her article.

Robert at Flimjo mentioned the fundraiser in his weekly recap.

Georgia Farm Woman is supporting the event by having the fundraiser picture showing how much has been raised in her sidebar.

Sanity Found had a great idea and suggested I sign up for Pledgie, which allows people to place a donation widget on their site, which she placed on her sidebar, similar to the picture I am using. If anyone is interested in using the service, they can get the widget here.

I am continuing to contact bloggers who might be interested in helping me spread the word about the event. If anyone has other ideas they believe I may not have tried yet, I’d be glad to hear them. Again, I deeply thank everyone who has offered to help.

If you enjoyed this, you can join the rss feed and be updated about new material. If you don't know what rss feeds are, this article explains them.

I noticed that you have a lot of ads on your site. How do you make money off of this? Do your visitors have to click them or do you get it from simply displaying them? Nothing helps more than knowing how to help you make money by simply clicking ads.

Hi Matthew - I do make a little from the ads. Some of the ads generate money just by being displayed, others (such as the Google ads) need to be clicked. However, if I were to encourage readers to click on ads, that would constitute “click fraud” which is big no-no in the industry. I would get banned from the ad networks.
