Cubicle Unhappy to Biking Expedition (C.U.B.E.)
If you heard that I’m some blogger who up and decided to leave his cubicle and bike across America in pursuit of other peoples’ happiness, then you’ve heard correctly, and you’ve come to the right place. The short version of the story is that one day I lost it while in my cubicle after spending several years working toward my dreams. I decided instead to do an about-face and go off to do something remarkable for other people. For the longer version, go here. I plan to blog about the experience here in an effort to inspire people about human kindness. To read about the events, you can visit this website and navigate to the category on the left titled “CUBE”. All the posts related to this venture will be there. I highly recommend that you subscribe to this site’s rss feed so you can be notified of updates. Below you will find a FAQ that will answer many of the questions you might have. If you have other questions, feel free to contact me using the contact page.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What are you doing presently?
I am on the verge of a charity letting me sponsor them. Riding a bike a lot. Seeking corporate sponsors. I’m also begging other blogs to help get the event some exposure.
What’s unique about this trip?
For starters, it’s live. Video will be beamed straight from the handlebars right to the front page of this blog. Oh right, and I might die.
Are you an athlete?
No. I played bad football in high school and was a terrific weightlifter in college, but in the years since then I’ve gotten out of shape. However, I probably will be an athlete when I get back.
How long is the trip?
Looks like about 2,300 miles. But probably more because I’ll end up doing something stupid like first going east.
Don’t you have a family?
Yes I do. And yes my wife grimaced when I first told her. But she’s also the most supportive woman on the planet. She recognized the altruism for what it was and is behind me. As to the financial thing, I’m not sure yet. I am looking for corporate sponsors though that might be able to help in that way.
Is the trip dangerous?
Maybe. At least for the uninitiated like myself. I’ve never done anything like this before in my life. Are there wild animals outside of the Indianapolis suburbs?
For what cause are you dong this?
I’ve already contacted several charities in California and Oregon and will provide details about the one that is willing to let me sponsor them. My favorite so far is the Make A Wish Foundation.
How can I donate?
You can’t. At least not yet. The ability to donate to the fundraiser will only be possible once a charity has accepted my intentions.
How are you training?
I’m starting to train on Monday, June the 30th. I presently only have a mountain bike so will be using that for a while until I get a decent road bike.
How can I help?

I think this is incredible and wish you all of the best, it is the one thing that a very good friend of mine wanted to do before cancer nabbed him! Very brave, hats off to you and lots of luck, amazing!
