How our society lies to us

At some point or another, most of us figure it out. Sometimes it takes years, sometimes decades. Somewhere in there, a trigger goes off. Bam!
It’s just not true, what they say. Someone made it up. They lied to us.
We don’t have as much “free will” as they said we do
We are raised to believe that we have fully free wills. Obviously, that’s not true. We have “conditional” free wills. We are free to do whatever we want, if…
We can’t just go get the job we want, do the things we want to do during the day, enjoy the time we want with our families. We get the jobs that are available and we do what we have time for.
Reward does not always follow merit

Without getting too philosophical about free will, it’s true that you can’t completely control your environment, so I would agree you don’t fully have free will, but I think if you hard hard enough you can and will change your environment. We aren’t perfect beings, so you can’t expect a perfect society, but it’s pretty damn good.
